eYRÚN ýR pÁLSDÓTTIR and Hrannar frá Flugumýri II WIN fIVE gAIT OF mEISTARADEILD lÍFLANDS 202429/2/2024
 Five Gait, the third competition of Meistaradeild Líflands 2024 took place tonight, February 29th. Many talented horses took part, great veteran competitors up and coming ones. It was clear that horses and riders showed up prepared to compete. Because today is Rare Disease Day, some riders wore tokens of their support for the organization, Einstök Börn, which supports children diagnosed with rare diseases. Toyota Selfossi offered spectators free admission this time, and we sincerely thank them!  The evening began with a excellent performance by Þorgeir Ólafsson and Aþena frá Þjóðólfshaga 1. At the end of the preliminaries Ásmundur Ernir Snorrason and Askur frá Holtsmúla 1 led, with Teitur Árnason and Nóta frá Flugumýri II hot on his heels. Rounding out the A-finals qualifiers were Glódís Rún Sigurðardóttur and Snillingur frá Íbishóli, Sigurður Vignir Matthíasson and Hlekkur frá Saurbæ, Árni Björn Pálsson and Ísbjörg frá Blesastöðum 1A and Eyrún Ýr Pálsdóttir and Hrannar frá Flugumýri II.  It was clear that the A-final would be an exciting one. The stands were tightly packed and there was a great atmosphere in the riding hall. When it was time for the final section, the pace, Eyrún Ýr and Hrannar frá Flugumýri II led, despite being in sixth place coming out of the preliminaries. The audience was treated to spectacular pace sprints, and the audience waited with bated breath for the results. In the end, it was Eyrún Ýr and Hrannar frá Flugumýri II and yet another title for this impressive pair, as winners of Five Gait in Meistaradeid Líflands 2024. In second place was Sigurður Vignir and Hlekkur frá Saurbæ, followed by Glódís Rún and Snillingur frá Íbishóli in third. Ásmundur Ernir and Askur frá Holtsmúla I landed in fourth place, Árni Björn and Ísbjörg frá Blesastöðum in fifth, and Teitur and Nóta frá Flugumýri II in sixth.  Top Reiter won the team competition with 54 points, which was to be expected given that the team had all three of its riders in the final: Teitur Árnason, Eyrún Ýr Pálsdóttir and Árni Björn Pálsson.
