The Champions League begins on January 22, 2026.

Meistaradeild Líflands will kick off on January 22 with competition in fourgait. As in previous years, there is great anticipation to see our top riders go head-to-head, and excitement is high surrounding team compositions and any unexpected changes that may have taken place.
At the annual general meeting this autumn, several matters were discussed, including two significant decisions that will take effect in the upcoming season:

• Wild cards will no longer be available for teams to use.
• B-finals will are now part of the competition. However, the winner of the B-final will not advance to the A-final.

Many of the nation’s strongest riders are registered to compete, and with the introduction of B-finals, even more intense and exciting competition can be expected, as more riders will have the opportunity to fight for points in the individual standings. Auction spots will continue to be available for those who wish to challenge the very best.
Meistaradeildin will continue to be a platform where the country’s top riders meet, ambition is at its peak, and the outcomes are often unpredictable. All signs point to a powerful and memorable season ahead.
